This is a 1st shift position: DDG Mechanical Team Supervisor, the role provides guidance and leadership to the core discipline of EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials), a Team of Marine Designers responsible for evaluating and processing Material lists and information from design teams to the planning team.     - EBOM team is responsible for the transition of material data from the Design Teams into a configured bill of materials for planning/production. - Final prep for transfer to the key entry group and subsequent verification that data is ready for transfer to end customers (e.g. Planning) - This includes Navy funded change as well as Class II shipbuilder design - Processing of material as requested to suit Planning Yard IPDA packages - Development of Advanced parts lists, working in conjunction with Procurement - For the right candidate, this position may also include supervision of the SDC team (Systems development and control), which is responsible for the development and maintenance of open shop source code and VB projects which support the engineering, planning, and production activities. - Responsibilities include researching, investigating and evaluating proposals that enhance the overall performance of the shipyard through direct support of various departments. - Including but not limited to DDG 51 and 1000 class of ships Core duties: - Coordinate work with Planning and Production counterparts. - Supervise designers in the execution of tasks. Provide guidance and direction across the Team for Process and Technical issues. - Ensure that tasks are completed to established budget and schedules. - Work with the Manager to evaluate workload requirements. - Report progress and status at various manager level meetings and Departmental White Boards. - Provide project analysis on cost and schedule using EVMS principles, i.e. CPI, SPI. - Ensure all tasks are completed to the level of quality specified in the contract.   Responsible for the career development of assigned personnel.
