Job Description

The Test & Evaluation (T&E) Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the T&E Section Manager in successfully supporting the Ship Compressive Plan, and assisting in the development and maintenance of all T&E documentation for all Programs.

 

The successful candidate will perform duties that include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with the various BIW Programs, BIW Manufacturing, sub-contractors, certifying agencies, and Navy personnel throughout the development, execution and approval cycle of each test program.
  • Manage the change and incorporation process for all ship program test procedures, trials demonstrations, and test indexes.
    • Provide and maintain scoping and initial review of all changes for the potential impact to tests and T&E products.
    • Manage and coordinate the change incorporation of all authorized and applicable impacts to tests and T&E products.
  • Sea Trials Support:
    • Assist the Trials Coordinator in the preparation of the Schedule of Events (SOE), supporting the mission readiness reviews, and execution of the trials events both dockside and at sea.
    • Assist the Trials team in reviewing and administrating the INSURV demonstration documents, At-Sea Stage Tests, and supporting test data.
    • Manage the Trials Center during ship trials, and serve as a liaison between the Trials Coordinators, SSBA, INSURV, Program Office, and Chief Test Engineer.
  • Help resolve emergent production test and demo issues.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all T&E responsible documents including the Ship Comprehensive Test Plan, test reports, test change proposals, trials agendas and brochures, trials reports, and test status reports.
  • Assist the T&E Section Manager to achieve cost, schedule and quality objectives. Status group performance through the effective use of metrics.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline required, or significant experience in a shipyard test environment.
  • Marine focused degree from ABET accredited university or college preferred.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 3-5 years in an engineering/manufacturing environment recommended with 3 years in an Engineering Test environment preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of general ship design, construction and test program processes required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and people skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and effectiveness with Microsoft Office applications.
