- Ship construction surveyors are responsible for the layout of plate, unit, and ship construction control lines, installation and alignments of major equipment and the monitoring of the ship in its various stages of construction to ensure construction and fit-up tolerances are met. - Surveyors work in all areas of the shipyard from initial plate layout through ship delivery. - The surveyors work with all trades, levels of the organization and with Accuracy Control Engineers to provide required data to support the construction process.

This is an entry level position; The Cost Analyst's primary function is Material Proposal Development. With support, the analyst will develop solicitation documents in response to Navy Request for Proposals (RFP’s), support proposal evaluations, source selections, and contract negotiations (cost, price, terms, and award). Other tasks include but are not limited to the following: - Receive and interpret customers' post submission proposal clarifications and/or deficiencies. - Prepare standard contract writings (e.g., casefile memo, price analysis, negotiation plan and results) for inclusion into proposal offers i/a/w departmental procedures. - Enter contract data into appropriate forms and databases. Checks existence, accuracy, and completeness of electronic documents related to contract agreements. - Interact with management and/or mentor to resolves issues. - Collaborate with the Buyers, Material Coordinators, and the Program Management office to resolves issues and mitigate risks. - Develop analysis to negotiate contracts, modifications, requirements, services, and/or teaming agreements and subcontracts consistent with company policies. - Material Spend Forecasting. Support the Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual materials spend forecasting process. - Demonstrated ability to report forecast by work package - Exhibit the ability to report variances by work package - Continuous engagement with the buyers and management to ensure timely awareness of any risks

The successful candidate will undergo extensive training to become a valued member of the BIW Configuration Data Manager (CDM) team. The BIW CDM currently manages nearly 11 million configuration and logistics records in support of more than 67 Navy surface combatants with additional ships scheduled for future delivery. A Logistics Analyst supporting the BIW CDM is tasked with evaluating, developing, and maintaining configuration and logistics data for assigned ships and/or ship system(s). The Analyst will be expected to make efficient and accurate decisions based on a thorough review of all available data and resources. The resulting product must conform to well-established Navy policy and industry process requirements to ensure the US Navy Sailor receives the necessary support to complete their mission. The BIW CDM receives new logistics data each day from Ships Force Personnel, Life Cycle Managers, In Service Engineering Agents, TYCOMs, and other Navy organizations adding to an existing healthy backlog. The Logistics Analyst will analyze this data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before processing into the Navy's Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA). The current BIW CDM team of analysts is composed primarily of former BIW production, design and leadership personnel, along with several U.S. Navy retirees.

- Oversees employee defined benefit and defined contribution plans.  Serves as primary liason between internal management and plan administrator to facilitate proper utilization of benefit.  - Prepare monthly reports and financial statements needed to fund multiemployer pension plan (IAM). - Conducts retirement and benefits-related calculations and analysis. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures as it relates to defined benefit pension plans and defined contribution retirement plans. - Coordinates with actuaries, plan administrators, accountants, and other professionals to provide verified and compiled data for administration of benefits. - Support department by providing coverage for walk-ins, telephonic, and email support. - Conducts group benefits presentations for and/or individual interviews with employees regarding retirement and pension options. - Provides counsel and advice to employees/participants on benefits related issues/questions and/or refers employees to service providers as appropriate. - Participates in resolving retirement benefits problems via internal and vendor collaboration. - Assists with data requests and analyses for audit, budget, compliance and labor contract negotiation purposes. - Provides ad hoc program coordination for discreet programs across all Benefits areas. - Act as backup to Benefits Specialists for Health and Welfare benefit plans. - Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory changes, trends, and other developments affecting retirement benefits. - Ensures retirement plans are administered in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.

The Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is committed to prevention and suppression of fires aboard ships under construction, and production facilities within our complex. The EMS Team is responsible for the entire Bath Facility. The individual will be expected to make routine tours/inspections on U.S. Navy vessels, units under construction, all BIW manufacturing buildings and office spaces. The successful candidate will be capable of working in an energetic Industrial Firefighting Environment and following a standard firefighting command structure. Shifts are 12 hours on, and 12 hours off, with a 4 day on, and 4 day off rotation. A valid Maine EMS license is required. Knowledge of structural fire response operations, emergency medical care, and firefighting equipment inspections is also required. Interior firefighting experience is required in order to enter the hiring process and initiate training. A “Secret” clearance is required to complete the probationary period successfully. The background and “clearance” process is conducted by the BIW Industrial Security Department. Planned and unplanned overtime may be required as necessities arise.
