Working within the Reliability Engineering team to develop, implement, and manage processes and procedures that optimize maintenance and repair of all BIW Critical/Non-Critical equipment and facilities. It is recognized that components of this job description are specialized with respect to BIW and may require training and on the job experience to achieve full competency.   - Develop and maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) work procedures in the CMMS system. - Manage the effort to transition PMs from Calendar-Based to Condition-Based, working closely with Reliability Engineering to incorporate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) practices into work procedures (e.g. Thermography, Vibration, Oil, Acoustic analysis). - Work closely with Front Line Supervisors and Trades to document in CMMS troubleshooting and repair procedures followed during repair of Critical Equipment, to leverage lessons learned for future repairs. - Work closely with Reliability Engineering to determine sparing requirements for Critical/Non-critical equipment, ensuring important parts are documented in CMMSand monitored to determine whether they should be inventoried or purchased on demand. - Provide training to Front Line Supervisors and Trades on newly developed PM procedures (typically for new Capital Equipment). - Work closely with Reliability Engineering to establish a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) approach for Critical Equipment. This will include supporting Industrial Engineers (IEs) in the development of Operator Tasks that mitigate unplanned outages, and establishing necessary documentation and trade expertise that minimize the duration of outages if they should occur. - Manage overall sustainment of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts associated with Critical Equipment failures, including coordination of contributing parties, and ensuring timely completion of assigned action items. - Obtain and sustain the qualifications necessary to act as “Train the Trainer” for supervisors, mechanics, and electricians on use of equipment associated with PdM practices (BIW to provide training). - Support Capital Project Managers with the procurement of Critical Equipment. This will include responding to data calls that support Life Cycle Cost/ROI calculations, comparison of candidates’ for reliability/maintainability (R&M) characteristics, and incorporating R&M requirements in specifications.  - Support the Industrial Engineers with the development and performance of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and commissioning procedures that establish baseline operating performance characteristics of Capital Equipment that support development of a Condition Based vs. Calendar based Maintenance strategy. - Develop, implement, and managethe Maintenance based components of the BIW Reliability Roadmap. - Perform other tasks as assigned to meet Facilities goals. - Develop and publish performance measures that track and trend important equipment performance parameters.

This Buyer position is for the Capital/MRO area of the procurement organization.
