The IT Procurement Sr. Supervisor will directly oversee Information Technology sourcing across the category. This role leads a team of buyers to define subcontract requirements and manage subcontractor deliverables, which include hardware, software, and services.   Primary Responsibilities include: - Supervise and manage workload for a team of 5 IT buyers. - Guide, review, and approve work of IT buyers. - Develop and implement procedures to guide technology sourcing. - Lead the development of key performance indicator metrics to be used in the department monthly key performance indicator reports. - Respond to internal requisitions for technology products and services in accordance with existing company and departmental policies. - Oversee RFPs/RFQs and negotiation and award of long term contracts. - Evaluate provider terms and conditions, assess and summarize risk, and independently negotiate favorable modification. - Develop negotiation strategies to achieve financial savings and mitigate company risk. - Manage supplier relationships and act as primary point of contact to ensure continuity of technology goods and services. - Perform market research and advise internal stakeholders of trends and risks. - Responsible for bid development, cost/price analysis, budget management and program management, all i/a/w with BIW Acquisition Policies & Procedures. - Track forecasted vs. actual savings for IT spend categories and summarize performance to leadership. - Set standards across BIW and with Suppliers of professionalism, sound judgement and fairness. - Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal regulation and internal policies and procedures to enable conformity through daily function. - Act in a project or team-leadership capacity working with a team that may include Information Technology, Engineering, Design, Production Planning, or Production personnel. - Represent IT buying team on internal and corporate committees. - Evaluate, develop and implement necessary training.

The pay range for this position ranges from $24.50/hr - $25.50/hr.   This is an entry level position to work within the Marine Electrical Trade.  Applicants may be assigned to a variety of E02 tasks, including (but not limited to): fabrication, lay-out, and installation of foundations (using welding equipment); layout and installation of wire-ways; installation of electrical equipment; installation of cables; banding of cables to wire-ways; packing of cable penetrations; cut-in and hookup of cables to equipment. Applicants must be able to perform this work in all areas of the shipyard to include shipboard, in production buildings, on the LLTF, in the dry dock, or on ships in the water.

This is a year round position located in Pascagoula MS, reporting to the DDG 1000 Program Manager.   The successful candidate will support the DDG1000 Planning Yard in the following areas of responsibility:  - Responsible for providing Oversight and Management of the newly established Home Port Office in Pascagoula MS. - Responsible for ensuring directly and timely communication between BIW PY and Navy (PMS 500, Supervisor of Shipbuilding and Ships Force) on all matters related to PY provided Services. - Ensure all issues identified and assigned to BIW PY during the execution of an availability are tracked and responded to in a timely manner. - Function as an integral member of the Program Managers Representative (PMR) Team in supporting all DDG 1000 Availabilities executed at Huntington Ingalls. - Work with DDG 1000 PY Management to ensure OSR staffing is adequate to support the level of activities on the Waterfront. - Ensure all GFM received from Maine for availabilities is turned over to the executing MSR and report results. - Provide a weekly status report for Availabilities in progress to the Program Manager. - Provide remote support to other BIW programs and functional areas (PSA, Fleet Services, New Construction) as required.

The position is responsible for development and maintenance of company-wide labor resource models. The candidate will work with all company departments and levels of management to ensure timely and accurate plans are developed.   The candidate will utilize and maintain the existing Microsoft Access and Excel infrastructure to aggregate large volumes company data. This is a Design Team Leadership position: - DDG Team Supervisor, responsible for the development of Design Discipline Models and Drawings and coordinating work with Planning and Production counterparts. - Supervise designers in the execution of tasks. Provide guidance and direction across the Team for Process and Technical issues. - Ensure that tasks are completed to established budget and schedules. - Work with the Manager to evaluate workload requirements. - Report progress and status at various manager level meetings and Departmental White Boards. - Provide project analysis on cost and schedule using EVMS principles, i.e. CPI, SPI. - Ensure all tasks are completed to the level of quality specified in the contract. - Responsible for the career development of assigned personnel. Welding position, starting at $27.50 Responsibilities for this position include: - Perform welding in all positions (laying down, kneeling, standing, overhead) - Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights over 6 feet - Be able to carry/lift and setup welding equipment ranging from 20-66lbs - Must be able to work inside/outside

Pay range for this position is $27.50 - $30.55/hr.   Responsible for the operation and maintenance of boiler plant, air compressors, breathing air compressors along with associated dryer/purifiers and adiabatic cooling tower. Provide support to piping service, but not limited to piping installations, welding, troubleshooting, and repair of yard water, sewer, steam condensate and plumbing systems. Operation of boiler plant and air compressors.

The pay range for this position ranges from $27.50/hr - $30.55/hr.     This is an experienced position to work in the Shipfitting Trade. Applicants will be assigned any Shipfitter trade function, including (but not limited to): • Fabrication of complex items such as entire deck sections, grating assemblies, critical foundations, etc., using fabrication sketches and drawings. • Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to): machinery components and shafting equipment, ordinance foundations, exterior fittings and railing, etc. using blue prints. • Fabricating and installing complex assemblies such as shell plating assemblies onto mocks and ensuring completion of accurate assemblies in accordance with drawings and Accuracy Control plans. • Ability to work independently and solve daily installation/layout challenges with a minimal of assistance.  

The pay range for this position ranges from $26.00/hr - $27.00/hr    This is a mid-level experience position to work in the Shipfitting Trade. Applicants will be assigned any Shipfitter trade function with limited assistance from a more experienced Shipfitter, including (but not limited to): • Fabrication of items made from sheet metal, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum such as hull outfit foundations, tanks, small assemblies, and bulkhead assemblies using sketches and drawings. • Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to): set up of mock stations, layout and installation of shell/deck stringers, layout and installation of back-up structure, layout and install hull outfit foundations using assembly sketches and blue prints. • Fabricating and installing major equipment foundations using fabrication sketches and drawings.  

The pay range for this position ranges from $24.50/hr - $25.50/hr.   This is an entry level position to work in the Shipfitting Trade. Applicants may be assigned any Shipfitting Trade tasks, but will initially be assigned to assist in basic Shipfitting trade functions including (but not limited to): fabrication and installation of items made from steel, stainless steel and aluminum, and/or assist a more experienced Shipfitter in more complex fabrication and installation operations. Additionally, this entry level position would be involved in many types of prep work and grinding in way of part installation in all areas.

- Create and maintain machine programs and set-up sheets for CNC machines. - Perform research in hard copy and electronic drawings, as well as technical documents, to obtain information necessary to create programs. - Interact with machine operators as necessary to correct/edit programs. - Travel to other BIW facilities as necessary to interact with machine operators. - Travel to vendor facilities on occasion for training.

We are looking for all levels of experience to work in the Maintenance Electrical trade.  Applicants will be assigned any Maintenance Electrical trade function with assistance from a more experienced Maintenance Electrical employee, including (but not limited to): - Perform electrical hook-ups, repairs, and operational testing of Manufacturing Machinery and Plant Electrical Distribution Systems throughout BIW Facilities. - Work will be performed within National Electrical Code and BIW safety guideline The pay range for this position ranges from $26.00/hr - $30.55/hr.

The pay range for this position ranges from $27.50/hr - $30.55/hr.   This is an experienced position to work in the Tinsmith Trade.   Applicants will be assigned any Tinsmith trade function, including (but not limited to): - Fabrication of items made from sheet metal, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum such as hull outfit foundations, lockers, bunks, shelving, ventilation, guards, tables, counter tops, racks, etc, using fabrication sketches and drawings. - Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to): shelving, ventilation, guards tables, racks and countertops, layout and install hull outfit foundations, curtain plate and deck shoe, joiner bulkheads etc., using blue prints. - Fabricating and installing main engine and generator exhaust and intakes using fabrication sketches and drawings.

Bath Iron Works is seeking a candidate to join the Surveying team. In this role as a surveyor, you’ll work in all areas of the shipyard from initial plate layout through ship delivery. The surveyors works with all levels of the organization and with Accuracy Control Engineers to provide required data to support the construction process. Ship construction surveyors are responsible for the layout of plate, unit, and ship construction control lines, installation and alignments of major equipment and the monitoring of the ship in its various stages of construction to ensure construction and fit-up tolerances are met.   Additional Information   - This department currently operates on an optional 4x10hr schedule, otherwise defaulting to a 5x8hr schedule, with optional overtime depending on work load. - Ability to earn up to $5 per hour additional while-assigned pay depending on skill & ability.

Pay range for this position is $26.50/hr to 28.55/hr.   This is an experienced level position to work in the Sandblasting Trade.  Applicants may be assigned any S06 Trade tasks, including (but not limited to): blasting, tending, grit removal, set-up of equipment, building tents, machine repair, operation of mobile equipment, and snow/ice removal.     

Pay range for this position is $24.50/hr. - $26.00/hr.     This is an entry level position to work in the Sandblasting Trade.  Applicants may be assigned any S06 Trade tasks, including (but not limited to): blasting, tending, grit removal, set-up of equipment, building tents, machine repair, operation of mobile equipment, and snow/ice removal.     

In addition to the responsibilities of a Principal Engineer:  - Report to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering. - Lead Piping Systems across multiple programs. - Responsible for engineering products produced by the Piping Systems group. - Manage engineering processes to ensure that quality, schedule and cost performance goals are achieved on all programs. - Facilitate communication between D40 and D87 to ensure both departments are successful in the functional and detail design process. - Interface with, and support, Design, Engineering, Program Office, Systems Integration, and Concept Design Development, Change Management, Estimating, Contracts, Materials, Planning, Manufacturing, Navy, and other customer organizations. - Establish and maintain effective work procedures and instructions for Piping Systems. - Provide technical training, guidance, and leadership to assigned personnel, including championing continuous process improvement. - Perform supervisory and administrative duties including resource management, employee development, safety, performance evaluations, statusing and progressing work, hiring, honoring labor contracts, and WFM verification. - Represent Mechanical Engineering on the Pipe Value Stream team - strong focus on reducing cost and improving quality of that value stream from pipe piece fabrication to system test, activation, and commissioning.
