Job Description

We offer a competitive salary for this role, with an expected range of $61,800 to $78,300. The final offer will depend on your experience, skills, and overall qualifications. This non-supervisory position will support a wide range of project tasking as it relates to the Lead Yard Support Contract, with specific oversight of both the Post Baseline (PBL) Change Process.  Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the CM PBL Project Manager ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Safety Leadership:
    • Enforce safety policies and procedures, with a focus on housekeeping and personal safety. 
  • Project Execution:
    • Lead, manage, and execute Configuration Management activities within the Post‑Baseline Change Process in support of Lead Yard Support efforts.
    • Facilitate and oversee Change Management meetings involving the DDG 51 Navy program office, Huntington Ingalls Industries, subcontractors, and internal Engineering and Design teams.
    • Serve as a representative of Management in assigned meetings, working groups, and cross‑functional forums.
    • Develop, analyze, and present quality metrics; support and lead process‑improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining workflow and enhancing overall efficiency. 
  • Training and Development:
    • Identify and resolve system and business process issues that may affect the department’s ability to execute core job functions. 
  • Team Collaboration and Communication:
    • Provide backup and supplemental support to the Configuration Management Flight Upgrade Change Process Manager to ensure continuity of operations and effective management of change activities.
    • Participate in weekly Design and Program Office Change Management meetings, contributing analysis, status updates, and configuration insights.
    • Develop, maintain, and distribute DDG 51 Change Status Reports to ensure accurate, timely communication of configuration and change activity. 
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Develop, maintain, and update departmental procedures and work instructions to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with established processes.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Associates Degree plus two years of relevant experience preferred OR
  • Combination of four years of relevant experience and education.

Required/Preferred Experience

This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance.   • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong foundational Excel skills with demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex spreadsheets and reports.
  • Experience with Configuration and Data Management principles preferred.
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
