We offer a competitive salary for this role, with an expected range of $119,600 to $151,500. The final offer will depend on your experience, skills, and overall qualifications. The Planning Yard organization is seeking a strong, experienced leader to manage and execute the DDG 1000 Planning Yard (PY) contract. This role is responsible for ensuring the DDG 1000 Planning Yard Program meets or exceeds performance objectives across Technical Quality, Schedule, Cost, Compliance, and overall Program Management. Success requires daily coordination with key internal partners including the Program Office, Program Controls, Estimating, Design & Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Fabrication Planning, Fabrication Facilities, and Warehousing. The position also involves extensive engagement with Navy stakeholders at SupShip Bath, PMS‑500, and PMS‑421.
This position reports to the Planning Yard Portfolio Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Performance
- Lead execution of the DDG 1000 Planning Yard Program to achieve Safety, Cost, Quality, Schedule, and People performance goals.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to secure contract retention and accelerate program excellence.
- Support development and implementation of the DDG 1000 PY Operational Performance Improvement Plan (OPIP) projects.
- Identify funding needs, manage priorities, and ensure timely completion of all contract requirements.
- Resolve program and contract challenges proactively and effectively.
- Prepare and manage accurate annual Operational Business Plans, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Manning Lockdown Plans.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with Navy customers and Government partners.
- Establish and foster strategic points of contact across the Government customer community.
- Maintain productive business relationships with homeport shipyards, subcontractors, and support providers.
- Communicate professionally and strategically at all levels within the company and the Navy, including delivering briefings, updates, and formal presentations.
Operational Execution
- Provide daily guidance and support to the DDG 1000 PY Program Office team, including achieving Plan of the Week (POW) commitments.
- Ensure full compliance with all contract requirements and implement corrective actions for any deficiencies
- Pursue and support program growth opportunities, including expanded capabilities and efficiency improvements.
- Travel frequently—typically up to one week at a time—to support Program Reviews, vendor engagements, homeport visits, and other required meetings.
