Job Description

Bath Iron Works (BIW), a General Dynamics company, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Master Scheduling team. This individual would be responsible for the maintenance of our Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for all hulls under contract to support BIW in achieving our collective mission of Safely Executing High Quality Work and delivering ships to the US Navy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Safety Leadership:

  • Maintain the IMS for hulls to execute in a safe manner.

Project Execution: 

  • Develop and manage the IMS for all hulls.
  • Regularly update and maintain the IMS by incorporating changes, updates, and adjustments as necessary.

Training and Development: 

  • Identify and assess risks, issues, and conflicts that may impact the schedule.

Team Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Collaborate with resource management teams to ensure alignment between the schedule and resource allocation.
  • Produce monthly schedule reports for the customer that are compliant with strict contractual requirements.

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Continuously improve scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Organizational Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional), is an advantage

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify critical paths, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Open Plan, to develop and manage schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in maintaining and updating schedules.
  • Knowledge of project management and EVMS methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel or Tableau, to generate reports and metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
