Job Description

This role will be part of the Planning Yard (Ship Modernization) Engineering Planning Team located in Brunswick (Church Road). This position supports daily and weekly time-sensitive, customer, ad hoc, and end user reports, systems, data tables, and presentations. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership:
    • Enforce safety policies and procedures, with a focus on housekeeping and personal safety.
    • Participate in initiatives to enhance workplace safety and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Project Execution:
    • Identify non-value-added activities and implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Planning Management:
    • Participate with team to resolve challenges using the A3 problem-solving method.
    • Participate in efforts to improve design efficiency and optimization.
  • Training and Development:
    • Incorporate feedback and lessons learned to improve future planning and execution stages.
    • Follow planning processes and procedures that are well-documented and communicated and kept up to date.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication:
    • Follow Plan requirements that are communicated and well understood by all stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Participate in BOS manufacturing principles and productivity enhancements.
    • Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills associated with reporting and system support will be necessary

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Degree in Computer Science (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma / GED required

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Demonstrated MS Access and MS Excel proficiency required.
  • A basic understanding of VBA and experience with DELTEK Open Plan Professional (Scheduling Tool) required.
  • Tableau experience is a PLUS.
  • Good project management skills, including prioritization of multiple tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability and drive to work independently and within a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the BIW organization is critical.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated person with proven analytical skills.
