Job Description

This position reports to the DC/SRD supervisor and is responsible for planning, coordination, logistical, and administrative duties for the group. This group is responsible for developing new DC & SRD products for BIW built new construction ships, evaluating change proposals to capture impact to existing DC & SRD products on In-Service hulls, and subsequently incorporating documented changes into impacted products to reflect as-built configuration. The DC & SRD team supports all New Construction, Lead Yard Services, and Planning Yard efforts associated with DDG 51and DDG 1000 ships.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Plan and update Damage Control and Selected Records workorders. 
  • Coordinate with Post Delivery planning additions or changes to work schedule.
  • Plan and Coordinate travel for Damage Control and Selected Records. 
  • Coordinate scoping of ECPs for Damage Control and Selected Records. 
  • Maintain inventory and order material when needed. 
  • Backup Damage Control and Selected Record Supervisor time accounting requirements. 
  • Status work performed by Damage Control and Selected Records on a weekly basis. 
  • Will scribe notes/write ups during meetings to support efforts related to Damage Control and Selected Records. 
  • Will network with off-site personnel for scheduling ship checks and determining windows of opportunity.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • High School Diploma

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 3-5+ years of business or applicable experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated person with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities for managing/meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communicator - both oral and written.
  • Organize and maintain a system for keeping track of tasks and priorities.
  • Proficient in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA applications.
  • Engineering/Design or PY experience a plus.
  • Strong inter-personal relationship skills preferred.
