Job Description
- Lead, coordinate and execute the training and development of front-line and back-up supervisors employed by the Operations Division.
- Identify and establish training requirements for new and existing front-line supervisors with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new front-line supervisors and provide follow-on deckplate mentorship.
- Monitor the organization for new processes and update associated training material.
- Supervise trade training personnel and coordinate with associated superintendents to support the development of new employees.
- Support training activities that will include shipyard safety, leadership development, and new employee orientation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
- Associates Degree preferred.
Required/Preferred Experience
- 5-10 years of management experience is required.
- 5-10 years of shipyard manufacturing experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of the role, responsibility, and expectations of being a successful front-line supervisor is required.
- Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong ability to organize, plan, and execute complex projects is required.
- The ability to develop and implement training material is required.
- Able to instruct at or above department quality standards.
- Self-directed with a high level of initiative.
- Good technical competence, with strong experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience in multiple shipbuilding trades is strongly preferred.
