The Waterfront Engineering Organization Test & Evaluation (T&E) Assistant Engineer (AE) is responsible for supporting the total Ship Comprehensive Test Plan (SCTP).
The successful candidate will perform duties that include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, review, revise, and maintain ~400 per hull BIW written/BIW conducted Test Procedures (TP).
- Review, revise, and maintain ~130 per hull Gov written/BIW conducted TP’s.
- Witness onboard Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, and Combat Systems testing, and create Final Test Reports (FTR) for ~530 BIW conducted TP’s.
- Support Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, and Combat Systems testing during various ship activation periods, including sea trials.
- Provide test support to multiple ship programs.
- Research change impacts to BIW conducted TP’s.
- Work closely with manufacturing, ATT and Navy personnel throughout the development, execution, and approval cycle of the test program.
- Help resolve emergent test procedure issues on the deck plates.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of all T&E BMDA responsible documents.
- As directed by the Programs Division, support Sea Trials data room set-up, special inter-communications, instrumentation, supporting aircraft, and special support items as required. This includes supporting the Pilot House communications as requested by the Captain, an officer of the watch, or Management.
- Support Sea Trial 1MC and phone communications as requested by the Captain, an officer of the watch, or Management.
- Provide load test support including TP writing, TP revisions, witnessing, and FTR’s.
