The Life Cycle Engineering Department supports the design, construction, and test of in-service Navy DDG 51 and DDG 1000 surface combatants in multiple locations around the world. This position supports both the Planning Yard Test Program and emergent HVAC testing and balancing tasking for ships in service.
The scope of responsibilities includes:
High School Diploma or GED Required
BIW Graduate Apprentice (Design or Production) or demonstrated requisite technical experience required.
Familiarity with Design and testing of US Naval Combatants. Demonstrated familiarity with shipboard construction and testing activities.
Familiarity with shipboard HM&E systems required. Working knowledge of ventilation systems and collective protection system desired.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints/drawings, and equipment technical manuals required.
Demonstrated strong attention to detail with proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet schedule demands required.
MS Excel and MS Word skills required, proficiency using MS Access desirable.
