The Systems Integration organization supports the development and implementation of Combat Systems (CS) changes and has technical responsibility for supporting Combat Systems Integration on the DDG-51 Program. Technical responsibilities may include Combat Systems Alignment, Topside / Radar System Integration, and Survivability.
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership for all assigned systems and related tasks.
- Develop & maintain Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models using CAMEO software for assigned systems.
- Participate in and/or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in early development of ship design.
- Act as Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for significant CS changes.
- Interface with the Navy, Navy Contractors, Functional Engineering, Class Design, BIW and HII Follow Yard Services to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and process Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with schedule constraints.
- Ensure that all developed ECPs meet applicable functional engineering and Navy specification requirements.
- Provide technical support to Operations for the resolution of issues.
- Provide support to Planning for development of accurate implementation plans.
- Provide support to Estimating for development of accurate cost estimates.
- Develop and deliver presentations to management and/or Navy personnel.
- Develop ROM estimates for emergent CS Engineering work.
- Participate in and/or lead off-site meetings and other events occasionally.
- Head up special projects as assigned.
