This position will work as a Jira Developer on the IT Collaboration Services team, with a primary focus on delivery of Jira workflow solutions.
 
The Specialist will apply their knowledge of BIW processes and practices, and understanding of Jira capabilities, tools, and best practices, to align business goals with software capabilities. The Specialist will analyze and define requirements, develop and deploy Jira solutions of moderate complexity, and assist in the definition and deployment of more complex solutions.

This position requires an understanding of both BIW business process and Jira capabilities and development methods. The successful candidate will have experience in one of the two areas, with training to be provided in the other area, i.e. we will consider candidates with BIW experience and will provide Jira development training, or we will consider experienced Jira developers and will provide BIW process training.

The Specialist will work under the guidance of more experienced Jira developers and the Manager of IT Collaboration Services, and within established governance policies and development practices. They will assist in further developing and revising policies and practices to reflect growing Jira deployments and use cases.

The Specialist will be expected to:

• Apply communication and problem-solving skills to actively assist the business on issues related to the design, development, deployment, and operation of Jira solutions.
• Educate and train customers on guidelines or processes as needed, develop training content (webinars, documents, videos), and execute online and onsite training.
• Collaborate with business users to identify acceptance criteria and potential test scenarios and ensure testing efforts align with delivered functionality.
• Contribute to the vision and execution of Collaboration Services, including Jira, SharePoint, and Office 365 adoption across the organization.
• Build, configure, and maintain Jira workflows, Dashboards, reports, and documentation.
• Provide production support for Jira workflows.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.

• 3-5 years' experience with BIW business operations and a broad understanding of BIW’s business processes required, OR, 2-3 years experience with Jira development including custom workflow development and custom scripting required.

• BIW Professional Development Programs (PDP, EDP) are beneficial.

• Prior systems/software development experience is strongly preferred.

• Requires excellent communication, analytical, facilitation, and negotiation skills.

• Proficiency in the use of technology and computer systems required.
