Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking for a challenging but rewarding opportunity managing a team of approximately 15-17 supply chain professionals, executing a variety of complex procurements including: IT, construction, leases, new equipment, repair materials, etc.  Responsibilities include; 

  • Oversee the development, solicitation and execution of a variety of contracts supporting IT, Capital Investments, Medical, Human Resources and Maintenance activities.
  • Monitor staffing budgets and workload distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with department and company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and communicate issues to senior leadership when appropriate.
  • Provide mentoring, training and guidance daily.
  • Interface with BIW Legal, HR, Facilities, Medical and IT management to set work priorities, develop scopes of work, and identify appropriate contract structure.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure company and department goals are being met.
  • Address supplier performance and quality issues.
  • Support capital spend forecasting, and project milestone adherence.
  • Support with the execution of complex and challenging procurements when team workload is over capacity.
  • Manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
  • Willingness to provide 24/7 support to various departments when necessary.
  • Support ongoing process improvements.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years' Supply Chain or Procurement experience required.  
  • 3+ years' supervisory experience required.  
  • Ability to develop and negotiate a variety of complex contracts (IT, Construction, Medical, Leases, Etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications. Ability to produce clear documentation geared to varied audiences.
  • Solid project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Positive and energetic with strong cross-functional team experience.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude and financial acumen, including the ability to discuss and monitor associated budgets and expenditures.
  • An excellent sense of humor and a high tolerance for uncertainty in the midst of shifting priorities.
  • Ability to build relationships across all departments and levels within organization.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products: MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; knowledge of SharePoint, and JIRA.
