Job Description

Database Technician (Wage Step C - AAA / $28.30 to $33.65/hour)

 

Support Microsoft Access database design and maintenance throughout the Company.
Support project managers, Planning and IT with database management needs
Provide expert user support via the Microsoft Office Help Desk
Run critical database update scripts

Off hours and/or overtime support early mornings, evenings and/or weekends may be required.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

High school diploma/GED required.
Formal training courses or degree in Computer science required.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of computer based work experience in an IT environment required. Database administration and development experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office tools (excel, access, word) including ability to make template revisions required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform simple Microsoft Access database modifications required.
  • Ability to demonstrate and understand simple VBA code required.
  • Applicants chosen for interview will be given a standardized skills assessment. Candidates are required to demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully complete the assessment. Skills assessment will provide opportunity to:
      • Demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office tools (excel and access).
      • Demonstrate ability to perform simple Microsoft Access database modifications including the use of VBA programming code.
  • Ability to collect, create and adhere to detailed documentation required.
  • Hands on experience with database standards and end user applications preferred.
  • Experience with database architectural concepts and best practices preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of BIW work management systems (MACPAC, JIRA, FLOC, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory work history (discipline/attendance)
