Area Supervisor II

Ensure a safe, clean, working environment is maintained at all times during construction
Coordinate work for various trades (direct manufacturing and support trades)
Responsible for knowledge and support of area Plan of the Week development and execution
Coordinate and/or facilitate the resolution of any barriers, either production or pre-production that could impede the achievement of scheduled events
Work in accordance with all Union agreements and promote teamwork
Work to identify, develop, and implement cost reduction initiatives
Be an active participant in a culture of continuous improvement in both safety and quality
Ensure the final product is built to all QA requirements and inspection procedures with proper documentation
Work to maintain a high level of credibility with customers and good communication and working relationships across shifts within the facility
Graduate of BIW's Apprenticeship Program preferred.
Minimum of 3 years production/shipyard experience required, structure and/or machinery experience preferred
Solid understanding of shipbuilding processes
Solid understanding of MACPAC system preferred
Solid understanding of union agreement
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and multiple trades (M04, S40, W12, P10, H18, Y02) preferred
Understanding of Earned Value Management basics preferred (BCWP, ACWP, CPI)
