  • Job Description

    The primary responsibilities of this non-supervisory position in the Materials Division will be to perform the primary responsibilities of all types of subcontract and/or inventory / supply analyst or cost analyst functions.

    • Responsible for the acquisition and/or administration of complex, high dollar / high volume supplies & services; placement, administration and execution is performed thru a wide variety of purchasing contracts / leases;
    • Responsible for bid development, cost/price analysis, Estimate at Complete (EAC) management and program management, all i/a/w with BIW Acquisition Policies & Procedures;
    • Sets standards across BIW and with Suppliers of professionalism, sound judgement and fairness; applies these high standards to all subcontracts;
    • Prepares well-written, succinct and fully supported approval packages for management approval;
    • Understand & utilize Materials Division information systems.

     

    Position may include:

    • Inventory Analyst/Material Coordinator functions in support of Production, utilizing BIW MRP systems (MacPac and BMCS) and Supply Chain knowledge and experience;
    • Pricing bills of material working with Planning and Production to understand the change and how it is to be implemented.
    • May be called on to act in a project or team-leadership capacity working with a team that may include Engineering, Design, Production Planning or Production personnel.

    Required/Preferred Education/Training

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required/Preferred Experience

    • Material Coordinator / Inventory Analyst experience required
    • Minimum of 4 years of business or related experience
    • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain function
    • Knowledge of inventory management practices and supply chain functions, or related experience
    • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Suite)
    • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • History of having a desire to learn
    • Proven ability to manage complex inventory management or related experience and to lead complex projects
    • Practical and working knowledge of business practices and analytical skills that would normally be obtained through the receipt of a degree or work experience
    • Preferred proven inventory management experience or related experience with minimal direct supervision
    • Preferred working knowledge of BMCS, MACPAC
