  • Job Description

    • Manage BIW After Market Sales Program designated to support Fleet Services and Life Cycle Support Organization. Will serve as a direct customer liaison with PMS 400D/F, PMS 380, NAVICP/DISC/FISC, NAVSUP, TYCOM, Port Engineers, Ships Crew and private industry.
    • Maintain fiscal control of project budgets while managing all aspects of a project (e.g., Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Safety).
    • Work closely with BIW Production to assess capabilities, capacity and ability to take on projects. Market Strategy, Planning, scheduling, technical requirements, resources, estimating, procurement, Financial,and Logistic issues will all need to be addressed/considered when preparing quotes.
    • Manage vendors and local contractor support as required; Liaison with local contractors .
    • Manage Professional Engineering Services (PES), Shipbuilder Special Studies (SSS), Planning Yard and Life Cycle Services Projects.
    • Manage Emergent support to the Fleet (e.g. Engineering, Operations, Technical, Production, etc.)
    • Determine appropriate business opportunities for BIW to grow the business in life cycle services.
    • Market BIW capabilities to government marine related business units and to commercial customers with whom BIW's expertise matches their requirements.

    Required/Preferred Education/Training

    Associates degree in business or two or more years training beyond high school required.  Business preferred.

    Required/Preferred Experience

    • Minimum of 7 years material requirements, purchasing, sales and overhaul experience recommended
    • Project management and coordination skills required
    • Ability to plan, organize and execute projects
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/assignments and meet schedule demands
    • Experience with material sourcing, estimating and/or contracts preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with conflict and multiple priorities
    • Positive attitude towards a teaming environment and demonstrated ability to function as a team member
    • Demonstrated self-initiative to accomplish tasks and perform duties with minimal supervision
    • Enthusiasm for taking on new challenges and desire for follow-through and success
